Bank Holiday Monday we worked all day to ensure we were ahead of the game for the rest of the week. Therefore, Daniel was able to make a start on the Honda CRF450.

Her new owner had brought her to us with charging issues, kick start slipping & the speedo cable not working. The engine seems sound, as Daniel was able to ride the CRF before the strip down.

During her strip down, Daniel found the speedo cable snapped in 3 places, speedo worm drive chewed, the inner clutch hub damaged, kick start gears chewed, extensive fork oil leak & electrical issues which need addressing. Motocross bikes are hard wearing, hard riding bikes, which is why they need to be maintained & looked after to keep their performance tip top.

Having contacted our customer, he has advised that the speedo is not a priority, but wishes to proceed with the rebuild. All the parts are on order, some on back order & the CRF will be back in with us later in June.

She had juddered to a halt on Sunday with no warning, however the oil light had come on. By the description given, the first thought was oil pressure issues.

An initial investigation of the KTM, showed the oil filters had crumpled & filings in the oil indicate low pressure. Daniel also discovered that a spring which sits below the oil filter was missing.

With new filters, oil & a 30 mile test ride to check all was as it should be; the KTM was reunited with her very relieved owner.

Tuesday was a very busy day at mono motorcycles, as we also welcomed The Yamaha R1 in her popping Yellow livery. As her owner intends on using her for track days, it was time for new discs, pads & a full caliper rebuild.

Friday we welcomed the Triumph 675 R Daytona track bike to the workshop.

Having been kept pretty much pristine for a couple of years, her owner now has the track bug & needs her tip top for a season of 2019 track days. Therefore, we have a few mechanical issues to resolve today & new front brake pads; but we are mainly fitting her new body kit in advance of her being professionally wrapped! Watch this space!

Race fairings tend to be slightly different to the original body work, to adjust for the needs of the track. Quick release panels & a larger belly pan are just such features.

We have re-posted our Kit up! Zip up! Blog from last year, in advance of what looks like a heat wave headed towards the UK.

Mono motorcycles are always mindful of motorcycle safety, both for the motorcycles & their riders. If you know anyone who is tempted to not Kit up! Zip up! In hot weather, then please do share our blog to try & dissuade them. Thank you.

We first ran the following blog in April 2018. However, having witnessed more & more motorcycle riders putting themselves at risk by not wearing protective motorcycle clothing; mono motorcycles feel the need to re-share this safety message.

We hope to have live music over the lunchtime slot, an outdoor & indoor bar, BBQ & street food! All we need now is you to join us & have a fantastic day celebrating motorcycles, adventure & friendship!
