In our most recent blog, Daniel Morris – Master Technician at mono motorcycles, gave some very important & helpful advice about preparing your motorcycle for winter. One of the area’s he focused on, was servicing.

If you are riding throughout the winter, we highly recommend servicing your motorcycle.

Checking such things as the battery, which will take a hammering over the winter months, is essential. Cold engines take a lot to start. Worn batteries will leave you out in the cold.

Checking the coolant can be awkward on most motorcycles, but leave it unchecked & if the antifreeze content is too low, it can cause catastrophic damage to a motor.

Brakes can also take a battering. It’s worth pulling the pads & adding ‘copper slip’ to the sliders, changing the fluid & cleaning the pistons. Chains are also out in the elements, so a good coating of chain lube will help.

Regular servicing is essential for safe & happy motorcycling. Making sure your motorcycle is not only road worthy but safe too, is an essential part of owning a motorcycle.

To ensure engines are kept in their prime and to secure the longevity of the moving parts, regular maintenance and servicing is a must. At mono motorcycles we offer a service package to suit every type of motorcycle, fully in line with manufacturers specifications.

Ensuring chains, oil and filters are regularly changed, brakes are kept within safe parameters, fork seals are not leaking and tyres are kept to a safe legal limit; is all part of the service and maintenance options which we offer.

When valve clearance checks are undertaken, customers are always advised prior to adjustments and no work is completed without the customer being fully aware of the procedures as they continue.
